Uggs boots are what are known by some as sheepskin boots. These boots have been made in Australia for tens if not hundreds of years, and are well known all over Australia. However now they are making an impact on foriegn markets.

An Ugg boot is made from the skin of an Australian merino sheep most commonly. The wool part of the skin faces into the inside of the boot and so lies against the leg. This results in a warm soft feel to the boot that is found only from wearing Uggs boots. The Ugg is unique in the level of comfort it offers to the wearer, and devotees of Uggs will maintain tenaciously that Uggs are the most comfortable boot on planet, unsurpassed by any other form of footwear.

The Ugg boot has the soft pliable skin of the sheep facing out as it has the woollen part of the skin facing in. This results in a soft outer or exterior skin to the boot that means that Uggs can be a little prone to damage and wear when used in wet weather or inclement, dirty or muddy conditions. The boot is not the most hard wearing of footwear, and so wearers of Uggs boots learn quickly that they need to use some discretion when selecting which day to wear their Uggs outdoors.

The sheepsking is usually sewn onto a plastic sole, and so the boot is not entirely waterproof. Water can enter around the sole, and although it is possible to buy Ugg waterproofing it is not a total solution. If you own a pair of Uggs it’s better to treat your boots with care and respect and understand that even the best Uggs are not ideal for hard outdoor use and will wear out and get dirty quite quickly if treated too harshly.

However once the limitations of the boot are recognised and the owner of a pair of Uggs learns to use some discretion for just when they are worn, a pair of Uggs will last quite well.

Ugs can be the most comfortable boot you will ever wear. The unique qualities of the sheepskin mean that they will keep your feet warm in even the coldest of weather, but that if you wear them in summer they will not overheat your foot. And Uggs are great indoors where waterproofness isn’t an issue, and make wonderful house slippers. They can be bought in various lengths, so that you can get Uggs that come right up your lower leg to just below your knee, or ankly length Uggs that come up just above the ankle making ideal indoor slippers.

Over the last few years Uggs have become fashion footwear. They now come in all sorts of colors, styles and designs and are very popular in the US and Canada. Unfortunately this has resulted in Uggs becoming extremely expensive, with prices up to or over $500 a pair in some cases for the best of the best fashion boots.

It is possible to find cheaper Uggs but you need to be a canny online shopper to do so.

Anybody, from the very young to the very old, can enjoy a pair. It is quite possible to buy baby Uggs and they are ideal for the elderly who may suffer from poor circulation and cold feet. In both of these cases it may not matter so much about whether these wonderful sheepskin boots are fashionable or not, but in each case the wearer will love them.

What are Ugg boots? Uggs are boots made from pure sheepskin. The outer covering of the boot is the outside of the sheepskin, and the warm woollen part of the skin faces in. This makes for a boot that is extremely warm and is a delight to wear, especially in cold weather like winter. Uggs are also now being made with a second and outer skin of leather that adds to the strength and the durability of the boot.

The Ugg is usually a high fitting boot, mostly coming up above the ankle, and usually much higher. Most Ugg boots are high enough to come up not far below the knee, keeping the entire lower leg warm.

It is also possible to buy sheepskin slippers, these also usually come up just above the ankle, and are also extremely warm, though not technically called Uggs.

Traditionally Ugg boots are worn outside the trousers. And for this reason Uggs are becoming part of the fashion culture. Melting fragrance melts or a wax tart in a tart warmer is a wonderful way to add fragrance to your surroundings. A Fragrance melt is made by adding fragrance oil to wax. At Essential Pleasures we have over 400 fragrances to choose from and use special waxes for maximum fragrance throw.

A tart warmer is designed to melt the wax tart at the correct temperature to release the fragrance. The amount of fragrance released is determined by the size of the wax pool. The wax used for making wax tarts is selected for its fragrance throw and it s ability to not stick to the container for easy cleanup and change-out. A large number of tart warmers Essential Pleasures carries a large variety of warmers, both tea light and electric come with separate bowls. The bowl, if used with the right kind of fragrance melt wax can be cleaned by placing the cooled bowl in a freezer for a few minutes. The frozen wax will pop right out of the bowl leaving it clean and ready for the next use. When a fragrance melt is used in an electric tart warmer, you end up with a strong fragrance similar to burning a candle without the flame. As mentioned above, Fragrance melts have the advantage of easily changing fragrances by placing the cooled bowl or entire warmer in the case of a one piece in a freezer for a few minutes to pop out the wax and reuse. In addition the popped out wax can be saved in a plastic baggy for future use.

The color of fragrance melt has nothing to do with the fragrance or amount of fragrance in a fragrance melt. Most fragrances are colorless or amber in color. Color is added to the wax at the time fragrance is added to make the melts similar to the fragrance they represent. If no color is added the melts would end up an off-white or amber color.

We carefully measure and add the same amount of fragrance to every melt to insure consistent quality. The amount of fragrance throw is mostly dependent on the fragrance chosen. Not all fragrances have the same throw. Different individuals have different tastes in fragrances. We are often asked what our favorite fragrance is. Our favorite fragrance is not always our best selling fragrance. Some individuals like a musk scent while others enjoy a flower smell. Some prefer a baked goods fragrance while others choose a fruity smell. For example, we offer a peach fragrance that I swear smells like you just bit into a fresh peach. We sell a carrot cake fragrance that smells like a carrot cake baking in the oven. One of our customers told us once that she was melting carrot cake in her warmer when her son stopped by for a visit. The son stayed and sat for a while finally he turned to her and asked when the cake would be finished baking. He honestly thought she had a carrot cake in the oven. We also have a fragrance called pikaki, which smells just like a Hawaiian Lai.

We offer our fragrance melts in three different sizes, a heart shaped melt, a tart shaped melts, which we call single melts and a breakaway bar that can be separated into six pieces. . For larger tart warmers we recommend using two heart shaped melts or one single melt which is equal to two heart melts. The fragrance throw is dependent on the fragrance and the size of the wax pool the wax should not be heated to a temperature over 180 degrees. As with any wax product do not leave wax melting unattended and keep out of the reach of children and pets.
